Pinnacle Tower News
Nov 17, 2005
Hi everyone,
Well it has been
more than a month now since escrows began closing on the Pinnacle
and neighbors have been moving in almost daily.
In that period
of time I have been listening and receiving emails from many of
you. I wish I could say that it was all good news. Most of the
comments have been complaints regarding communication from Pinnacle,
the builder.
It seems there
is a lot of discontent regarding the lack of communication and
follow-through on problems in the units. It also seems that there
is far more communication between neighbors in the building than
there is from the Pinnacle Construction office with the homeowners.
We all know that there is a lot of work yet to be done in the
building and many of you are not hearing from the Pinnacle.
Hopefully that will improve as we move forward.
On a bright note
- the building is open for business, people are moving in, and we
all have terrific views of our city. It will take time for all of
us to get fully settled in. Meanwhile stay in touch with each
other.
Newsworthy Items:
Sewer problem: Just this morning there was a
serious sewer backup on the 11th floor affecting Units 1108
& 1007 on the 10th floor. The ceiling of 1007 had
to be removed above the dining room but not until damage had already
been done to some furniture and of course the ceiling.
Punch Lists (Customer Service Request Forms):
Everyone who has or will do a walk-through of their unit gets a
punch list to fill out. Should you find further items needing
attention after your initial walk-through you are advised to fill
out another Service Request Form and deliver it to the Construction
office on the mezzanine level as soon as possible.
Paint & Floor Tiles: Many of you have inquired as
to the paint brand and color and tiles used in the units. That
information is available from the construction office.
Party Invitation: Neighbor and new homeowner
Richard Walker has extended an invitation to the Pinnacle Tower
homeowners to an open house reception in his unit - suite 2008,
Friday, Nov 18 from 6pm to 8pm. Champagne & hor d'oeuvres will be
served. 847-687-3333
New Restaurant in the Pinnacle: Many of you have
been inquiring about the businesses that will be opening on the
ground floor of our building. One such business will be a
Pancake House owned and operated by homeowner Richard
Walker. Richard has been in the restaurant business for a few years
and has two such restaurants in Illinois. Checkout his website for
more details:
www.richardwalkers.com
Vertical Village Realty to open a location in the
Pinnacle Tower. That name should be familiar to all of you. That
is Ron Ryan's real estate business.
Elevators: Tired of waiting for an elevator?
Patience is really the answer unless of course you can handle the
walk up the stairs. I spoke with a representative from the elevator
company and he expressed personal frustration in that, according to
him, the elevators needed a 60-90 day shake down before occupancy.
Since that apparently did not happen - the elevators are susceptible
to periodic problems for awhile. And during the construction phase
of the building we will just have to exercise patience since
construction workers also need to use the elevators to get their
work done.
Concierge: Word around town is that we have the
best. Richard Amberry has gained a reputation for excellence and we
are fortunate to have him in our building.
Homeowner website: For homeowners, by homeowners.
Be sure to visit
www.pinnacletower.org a website created for the purpose of
communication and information for homeowners in the Pinnacle. This
website will continue to expand information that is useful to you
the homeowner.
Call for Board of Directors: By now you should
have received in the mail a call for volunteers to serve on the HOA
Board. For more information contact the Prescott Companies. (see
contact info below)
Viva-city, keeping you in touch with the pulse of
the city: Friend and downtown neighbor, Sandra Simmons maintains a
terrific website for all of us. Please visit her website and let
her know that you look forward to receiving a "welcome wagon"
delivery.

this time around. Stay in touch and keep the communication lines
open. Wishing all of you a great Thanksgiving in your new home at
the Pinnacle.
